Goodbye Job, Hello Adventure

This past month has been a powerful reminder of how supported we are. I started including my intentions and vision in my daily meditation practice and without knowing the exact outcomes, I am already seeing things come to fruition. I want to share a few examples and some of my reflections.

Three of the intentions that I have for 2024 are:

  • reduce my working hours/screen time

  • create transformative offers, retreats, workshops, and resources

  • collaborate with other healers and changemakers

One of the major shifts that I have experienced this month is being terminated from my job. It worked out that I was taking a trip to Jost Van Dyke (JVD) for the weekend which was the perfect place to deal with the emotional and mental turmoil that comes with such a drastic and sudden life change. If you’ve never spent time on JVD it’s unlikely that you would fully understand the experience, but what I can say is that JVD is one of the most tranquil, peaceful, and grounding places that I have been. This was a step in the right direction for most of the intentions that I have, but especially for these 3. Reducing my working hours and screentime was the one intention that had been heavy on my heart lately. Having that come to life, and being in JVD immediately after it happened was a reminder to me that the Universe really has my back.

I’ve also noticed how the connections our parents and ancestors made can affect us in ways we could never predict. Everything we need to support us and our purpose are already provided / prepared for us from way before we were born. This remembrance alone is comforting and has helped to alleviate much of the stress and anxiety that comes when working towards your dreams. In terms of the other 2 intentions, I have connected with a few people who I will be collaborating with in the near future and have started planning some exciting offers (coming soon)!

I’ll end this post by sharing a little story and some takeaways. I went on a hike while in JVD, and the beginning of the trail had what appeared to be a bunch of dead mangroves. We couldn’t see where the path would take us, but we followed the trail anyways. We came across a few signs that directed us to go “up da rock,” and go “dat way”, there were even some roadblocks. Even though we weren’t quite sure if we wanted to keep going, we did. At the end of the path was the most beautiful surprise which made the journey so worth it. I couldn’t explain in words, so I will leave some photos (although we all know photos don’t do it any justice!).

This is a lesson of life; sometimes we find ourselves on a path, and we might not know where it will take us. We may be tempted to just turn back or give up. But, if we notice, follow the signs, and trust the journey, it can lead us to the most beautiful things we could never have imagined. There will be drought, death, and some roadblocks along the way, but these are just guideposts that are necessary for your journey. There are no such things as obstacles; everything is divinely organized.

Here are my takeaways:

  • Never settle for less than you are worth

  • You never have to push or force things

  • Trust the divine timing of life; you are exactly where you are meant to be

  • You are always being guided - notice, trust, and follow the signs

What was the biggest lesson you learned this month?
